Robert Schumann: Violin Sonata No. 2 D minor, Op. 121
The exceptional musicians Nicholas Angelich and Renaud Capuçon first met at the Conservatoire de Paris and quickly realized that they were kindred spirits. They form a harmonious and highly successful duo, lavishly applauded by critics and audiences alike and with numerous prizes and awards to their name. Published in 2008, their album of piano quartets by Brahms recorded with Renaud’s brother Gautier Capuçon on the cello and Gérard Caussé on the viola received unanimous praise from the experts.
