Classical Music, Jazz & Literature
Since its founding in 1916, Schloss Elmau has been a hideaway for great artists & authors. The calendar of events today features more than 170 concerts and literary events including several festivals for classical music,jazz, world music, pop, literature and geopolitical debates with some of the most famous artists and authors of our time. Five Steinway pianos, several rehearsal rooms (one with a Yamaha piano for use by guests), a piano suite, two libraries, a huge bookstore with an excellent assortment also for children offer plenty of food for thought to empower the mind and enlighten the senses.
For children
During the main holiday seasons workshops in creative writing, poetry, classical music, painting, dance, philosophy & science are offered for children, who can also visit all the concerts, which usually take place in the late afternoons. Kindergarten, babysitting and baby phone services let parents enjoy all events without limitations.
