Explore silent forest paths or join a guided mountain tour. More than 70 tours with experienced mountain guides are waiting for you. You can also borrow one of our high quality mountain or trekking bikes, or play a game of tennis or volleyball in the Nature Spa. The region also offers countless other sports and recreational facilities.
For a fee we are happy to organize rowing on Lake Ferchensee, wind surfing on Lake Walchensee, whitewater kayaking on the upper Loisach river, whitewater rafting on the Inn and Isar rivers, climbing, or horseback riding at the Schmalensee stud farm.
Enjoy our legendary hiking tours with the experienced mountain guides Herrmann & Hans – usually every Tuesday and Thursday from May through late October. Look forward to the special "Hiking Weeks" from September 13 to October 3, where you can take part in three guided mountain hikes per week | Gallery

Mountain Bike Tours
First-rate, brand-new mountain bikes or touring bike, children's mountain bikes or bikes with trailers can be rented per day for a fee. From challenging mountain bike trails like the one to King Ludwig II’s Schachen Castle at 1,800 meters or to the Partnach Gorge or easy tours to nearby lakes and rivers with magnificent mountain panoramas – the region around Schloss Elmau has something for everyone. Tours with experienced guides are offered every week.

We are happy to make arrangements for you at two spectacular golf courses nearby. Guests of Schloss Elmau enjoy special privileges there. Enhance your game with professional instruction at one of the two 18-hole courses offering a challenge for every level of ability in settings as inspiring as the caliber of play. Or learn golf the easy way with your children at a 9-hole course, only 10 minutes from Schloss Elmau (a shuttle service is provided).

Golf Proficiency Certificate
You will learn about the requirements to play golf in Germany and will be prepared for certification through practical and theoretical courses. The test takes place on the 9-hole course at the Golf & Landclub Karwendel. Successful completion is given in writing and entitles the bearer to play golf at all public courses in Germany.
