Concerts & Festivals
Schloss Elmau has been celebrating, for over a century now, a unique tradition of music. Each year up to 150 concerts, several festivals and recordings with major labels feature the great artists of our time.
Music can touch in ways that words alone can hardly achieve. In concerts a space opens up where sounds calm the breath, expand the heart and bring the mind to rest. Well-Being is inconceivable without good live music.
When listening to music, inner tensions dissolve, emotions can flow, and a deep sense of connection – with ourselves, with others and with the feeling of timelessness – becomes tangible. This is the transformative and liberating power of music.

A German History
Schloss Elmau was built between 1914 and 1916 by the philosopher Dr. Johannes Müller as a retreat to experience nature, tranquility and classical music in concerts, and dance nights After a major fire destroyed the landmark castle in 2005, Schloss Elmau was rebuilt by his grandson, Dietmar Mueller-Elmau, from 2007-2015 as a Luxury Spa Retreat & Cultural Hideaway for cosmopolitans. Besides classical music in concerts and festivals with the great artists of our time, Jazz, literary events, and political debates focusing on the history of ideas of liberty and its enemies, have since become part of the unique cultural program. In 2015, and again in 2022, Schloss Elmau has hosted two G7 Summits.
