A German History

Schloss Elmau has been built from 1914 - 1916 by the philosopher Dr. Johannes Müller, as a retreat for his readers. A major fire destroyed the building in 2005. His grandson Dietmar Mueller-Elmau rebuilt it from 2006-2007 as a Luxury Spa & Cultural Hideaway and Member of the Leading Hotels of the World. The Retreat opened its doors in 2015 and served as the residence for the Heads of State and Government during the G7 Summits with Chancelor Angela Merkel and President Barack Obama in 2015 and Chancelor Olaf Scholz and President Joe Biden in 2022.

My heart and thoughts are with Israel. I share the pain and sorrow of all families who lost loved ones in the genocidal massacre carried out by Hamas on Oct.7. The relentless pursuit of Hamas to annihilate Israel and their cult of death is responsible also for the terrible suffering in Gaza. I pray for the release of all hostages and an end of the war. I am confident that Israel will emerge from this horror more united and secure than ever before, which will be for the sake of all yearning for peace and liberty.
