Workshop for Teens

with Angelika Glitz

Writing is more than just stringing words together. Outside the classroom, writing can mean joy and freedom, and hones your imagination, empathy, sensory perception and structured thinking. This workshop teaches the basics of creative writing and storytelling. What are the secrets of a gripping story? How can I reach my readers with words? How do I keep them spellbound? Drawing on the writer’s bag of tricks, you learn how to write using all your senses, how to apply creative techniques, and how to find and enhance your own style through creative writing. We learn how to produce drama and conflict, create authentic characters, and write captivating dialogues. On the last evening, the texts may be presented to guests at a reading.

The children’s book author Angelika Glitz has been writing stories for television, radio and theater for many years, but what she loves best is to write books. More than 30 of her books have been published, and translated into over 20 languages. In her interactive readings and writing courses, she gets children and teens excited about reading and writing. In 2012, Angelika Glitz won the German Short Film Award.
