Theater and Dance Train like you’re rehearsing for the musical ‘The Lion King’
with Katja Geist
Dance and theater enable us to immerse ourselves into a separate world, spark our imagination, creativity and self-confidence. When children and young people enter a creative process and present their own movements, texts and characters to an audience, a magical moment often arises. They literally grow beyond themselves.
Similar to the basic training of the child actors for “The Lion King,” the children and teens spend a week developing their own stage performance. Improvisations, home-grown choreographies, or fragments of already existing stage plays – no limits are set to the imagination in this workshop. Fun is the guiding principle of the time spent together and in the end, the participants are amazed at what they are capable of.
Katja Geist is a trained actress and musical theater performer. After numerous stage engagements, she has worked as a freelance for 12 years, both on and in front of the stage. Among other things, she is the lead drama and dance coach of the child actors for Disney's "Der König der Löwen" (The Lion King) in Hamburg.
