Hotel Management (B.A., M.A.)

After you earn your school-leaving certificate (Abitur or International Baccalaureate), Schloss Elmau offers a part-time dual-learning distance program at the state-recognized IST University of Applied Sciences for Management in Düsseldorf, where you can earn an academic Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. 7 semesters) or master’s degree (M.A. 4 semesters) in Hotel Management. Schloss Elmau also offers in-service training at the IST Institute of Management in Düsseldorf, where you can gain expertise, certificates and degrees that can broaden your horizons and accelerate your career

You work four days a week and study online in your free time. Schloss Elmau will cover your tuition fees and pay you a gross salary of € 1200/month plus train fare and a flat fee for laundry. Meals at our staff restaurant are free of charge for you. Only the currently applicable monetary value will be taxed. The rent for a staff apartment is € 270/month. If you already have several years of professional experience in the international top-level hotel industry or gastronomy, you can also complete a part-time dual master’s program at the two universities.

IU - International University of Applied Sciences

Tourism Management & Culinary Management (B.A.)

If you have already graduated from high school (Abitur or International Baccalaureate), Schloss Elmau offers you a dual study program on the virtual campus of the accredited, state-recognized university IU International University of Applied Sciences. IU is Germany’s largest private university and is system-accredited by FIBAA. Two different degree programs are available, with the option of completing an academic bachelor’s degree in 7 semesters. The ‘Tourism Management’ degree program prepares you for the wide range of tasks in the tourism industry. Whether you want to plan events, put together custom trips, or develop strategies to make a city more attractive as a tourist destination, the opportunities in tourism are nearly limitless. The ‘Culinary Management’ degree offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the extensive world of culinary arts. To be able to manage a kitchen professionally, you need basic gastronomic knowledge as well as business know-how. An exciting 3½ years await you, which you will spend learning from the best. Your theoretical knowledge will be supplemented, expanded, and deepened through practice at the hotel, so that after graduation you will be ready to start your career in tourism and hospitality/gastronomy
