Get into Shape with Johannes Mikenda

Would you like to move with strength, endurance, and joy? Feel comfortable in your own body?

This package is your first step on the journey. Your current fitness level will be assessed through performance diagnostics using spiroergometry, a motion analysis with high-speed cameras, and a mobility check. Based on these results, sports scientist Johannes Mikenda will design a personalized training plan for you.
Mental coaching sessions will help you develop realistic strategies to stay on track in your daily life. Specific goals, such as achieving a new personal best in a marathon or completing your first Ironman, can also be tackled here.

Mindfulness Week with Johannes Mikenda

Immerse yourself in a week of stillness, clarity, and mindful movement. Our Mindfulness Week with experienced mindfulness and yoga teacher Johannes Mikenda invites you to step away from the demands of daily life and explore the art of mindful living in a truly holistic way.

Each morning begins with a guided meditation session where you'll gradually learn some of the most powerful mindfulness techniques – including body scan, breath awareness, and mantra meditation. As the days progress, the practice deepens with a focus on mindful self-compassion – a gentle yet profound path to greater inner peace.
Optional one-on-one consultations and personal guidance are also available to support your individual journey.

The Pilates Way to Stability and Balance
with Dr. Imke König

Daily (Monday to Thursday) a session of Personal Pilates with Dr. König with classic exercises on the mat, dynamic exercises from Pilates Standing Balance and, if desired, with the large equipment Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chair. Exercises in the areas of strength, flexibility and balance ensure a balanced workout and a new body awareness.

One Expert Time session per day (Monday to Thursday) with Dr. König, in which theoretical information on the Chinese view of the causes of exhaustion is discussed, as well as ways out of exhaustion (diet, herbs, exercise, exercises, sleep culture). We also practise individually tailored exercises from the repertoire of Qigong.

Holistic Health TCM
with Dr. Imke König

Daily (Monday to Thursday) one hour of Expert Time with Dr. König, initial Chinese anamnesis and holistic solutions for any disorders of well-being, theoretical information on the preventive measures of Chinese Yang Sheng, (e.g. influence of internal and external factors on health, nutrition, emotions, lack of exercise/sleep) and individually compiled exercises from the repertoire of Qigong.

Johannes Mikenda

Johannes Mikenda is a sports psychology expert and senior advanced yoga instructor. As a sports scientist, his focus is on evidence-based movement interventions for the prevention of well-known lifestyle diseases such as obesity, back pain, etc. He draws on 20 years of experience in spinal clinics and rehabilitation clinics, as a Pilates and back training instructor, and as a running and Nordic walking coach, and incorporates the latest research findings. However, most restrictions on quality of life have their cause in the mind. As a sports psychology coach, Johannes relies particularly on acceptance and commitment therapy techniques, combining them with a systemic approach. Meditation and yoga can be ideally integrated as techniques in this process. 

Johannes uses this combination flexibly and in a variety of ways in his work with professional athletes, musicians, special forces, as a psychosocial specialist in acute trauma relief, and for the guests of Schloss Elmau.

Dr. Imke König


Frau Dr. Imke König ist Ärztin, Spezialistin für Traditionelle Chinesische Medizin, Qigong und Taijiquan Lehrerin, Pilates Trainerin, Expertin für Schmerz-Physiologie und hat für Schmerzpatienten mehrere Spezialmassagen entwickelt. Sie ist seit 2008 Medical Spa Direktorin auf Schloss Elmau und leitet das Turtle Spa® mit allen Angeboten rund um die Chinesische Medizin. Im Rahmen der Wellbeing Retreats arbeitet sie unter anderem mit traditioneller Puls-Erstanamnese und Zugendiagnostik, chinesische Kräuterrezepte, Ernährungsanalysen und Beratungen, Chinesische Tuina Massagen mit Schröpfen, Moxa und Guasha sowie Taijiquan & QiGong. Akupunktur kann in der Privat Praxis zusätzlich gebucht werden. 

Darüber hinaus ist sie seit 15 Jahren zertifizierter Basi® Pilates Comprehensive Teacher und unterrichtet sowohl Mattenklassen, als auch Personal Trainings mit Pilates Großgeräten (z.B. Reformer oder Cadillac). Ihre anatomischen Kenntnisse und ihre Erfahrung mit Spiraldynamik, Taijiquan und Qigong bereichern ihren Unterricht und eröffnen ihren Gästen immer wieder neue Bewegungsperspektiven.
