Isar origin

Scharnitz – Kastenalm – Scharnitz

Starting from the Karwendel car park in Scharnitz, the forest path leads in the direction of Hinterautal. The first ascent leads to the Gasthof Wiesenhof, past the Gasthof to Gleirschhöhe. Along the Isar it goes about 9 kilometres into the valley to the source of the Isar. The route continues for about 3 kilometres to the Kastenalm.
