Mantra meditation is a powerful tool to find inner peace and draw new strength for the challenges of everyday life. On this special evening at the beautiful Schloss Elmau, The Sat Nam Sessions will enable you to experience a deep meditative practice and a communal experience of yoga in sound.
David Lurey, E-RYT 500, was introduced to yoga in 1996. Studying the different aspects of yoga with a number of experienced teachers around the world has prepared David deeply to help you embrace all aspects of your practice.
With much enthusiasm and love, David Lurey teaches Vinyasa Yoga to connect with yourself, AcroYoga to connect with other people, Green Yoga to connect more deeply with the planet and the cosmos, and Bhakti Yoga to connect with the Divine.
Having trained in Rocket Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar and alignment-based practices as well as Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga, David’s style is inspired by all of these. Music and applied philosophy are a typical and regular feature of David’s classes.

Dr. Patrick Broome is one of the pioneers of modern yoga in Germany. He owes his fame to his talent for teaching yoga on a physical, psychological, and spiritual level, as a tangible and practicable life concept for people with a Western lifestyle. He understands yoga as an effective tool that can help anyone and everyone to relax and develop inner strength in their hectic everyday lives. Born in Germany and raised in California, Patrick lives with his two children in Munich, where he runs four yoga studios. He has been teaching for over 20 years, trains yoga teachers, and runs his own PBY training and further education academy.
Chris Germer, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and part-time lecturer in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He co-developed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program with Kristin Neff in 2010 and has written three books: “The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook,” “Mindful Self-Compassion for Burnout,” and “Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program.” MSC has already been shared with more than 250,000 people worldwide.
Dr. Germer is also the author of “The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion” and co-editor of two influential volumes on therapy: “Mindfulness and Psychotherapy” and “Wisdom and Compassion in Psychotherapy.” Dr. Germer lectures and leads workshops internationally and has a small psychotherapy practice in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
Johannes has led the yoga programs at Schloss Elmau for more than 13 years. He is inspired by different yoga styles, is a Senior Advanced Jivamukti teacher, Sivananda, Kripalu and Bhakti Yoga certified, but is also influenced by Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga. As a sports scientist, sports psychology expert, and mindfulness teacher, he pays particular attention to the connection between body and mind, teaching traditional yoga underpinned with the latest scientific findings from neuroscience, acceptance and commitment therapy, and the Mindful Self Compassionate program.
His classes are supported by 20 years of meditation and teaching practice, his experience as a mental coach for top athletes, and his work in several crisis teams. He believes that yoga should offer a broad repertoire for strengthening resilience, in which every participant can find and use the tools that are right for them.
After the courses, you can swim in one of the six warm infinity pools or in the idyllic Ferchensee lake, warm up in the 40 °C onsen pool, Finnish saunas and brine steam baths, cool off with an ice bath in the Ferchenbach stream and be pampered with a soothing massage in the Oriental Hamam.
