Yin Yoga is a quiet, contemplative practice based on ancient Daoist teachings. Poses are held for 5-10 minutes, using passive traction & gravity, to target the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, tendons, bones, and joints. Yin Yoga improves range of motion and health of deep tissues and joints, whereas Yang Yoga is any dynamic practice that develops muscular strength and stamina by using repetition and movement. Both types of practices are important for balanced mind-body health and wellness.Yoga Shanti: Shanti means peace: Yoga Shanti is a restorative yoga practice, in which you hold four or five poses, for a long time. Each pose is fully supported with props, combined with breathwork, hands-on healing and guided meditation techniques, to allow for total relaxation. This is a therapeutic, gentle & effective practice for bringing the mind-body into balance. It stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system into its “rest-and-digest” response and away from our “fight or flight” sympathetic nervous system that are bodies are more often stressed into. It is the perfect way to complete your active day of adventures in the nature surrounding Schloss Elmau.

‘Exhausted? – Revitalize on all levels’ Each day begins at 7am with a meditation guided by Zen Master Andrè Daiyu Steiner, followed by a relaxed yoga class for all levels led by Dr. Patrick Broome. For the time after breakfast, you have the option of booking individual consultations or wellness treatments with Ayurveda experts or our doctor for Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Imke König. (Treatments and individual sessions are not included in the package price). In the afternoon, you can practice Qi Gong with Dr. Imke König, followed by another relaxed yoga class with Dr. Ralph Skuban, focusing on breathing and relaxation. Afterwards, there is time to process your experiences at the spa. Each evening, your day ends with a lecture on Ayurveda, meditation, and the philosophy of yoga. The day begins with a meditation session, followed by a yoga class for all. In the afternoon, you can relax during a Yin Yoga class. Lectures, concerts and wellness treatments round off the days with the yoga instructor of the German national football team.

The morning class is dynamic and powerful; the afternoon class quiet, relaxing and restorative.
Go deep inside with a combination of Vinyasa Yoga to music, breathing exercises, philosophical input and deep meditation. The psychologist and teacher to the soccer world champions guides you on this journey. The day will begin with meditation followed by c. 90 minutes Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga with Dr. Patrick Broome. In the afternoon, we will offer Pranayama, yoga philosophy and yoga nidra.
