The morning class is dynamic and powerful; the afternoon class quiet, relaxing and restorative.

Yin & Restorative Yoga

with Sona

The Yin Yoga class 1hour 15 minutes
The restorative class 1 hour

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is based on the Taoist concept of Yin and Yang; opposite and complimentary principles in nature. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body using passive traction and gravity. Yang Yoga is any dynamic practice that develops muscular strength and stamina by using repetition and movement, whilst Yin Yoga improves range of motion and health of deep tissues and joints. Both types of practices are important for balanced mind-body health and wellness. A Yin Yoga class will usually consist of a series of long-held, passive poses aimed at targeting the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, spine & shoulder joints. The poses are held for varying amounts of time, usually between 5 and 10 minutes. The class is suitable for almost all levels of students.

Yoga Shanti (Restorative Yoga)
Yoga Shanti is a restorative yoga practice. A restorative yoga sequence typically involves five or six poses, held for a long time. The poses are held for between 5-10 minutes, fully supported with props, combined with breathwork, hands-on healing and guided meditation techniques, so that you can completely relax and rest. This is a therapeutic and gentle yet effective practice for bringing the body into balance. It is the perfect complement to our regular action-, goal-, and externally-oriented lives.
